Hank Baker joined Trinity Capital Management in September 2014, bringing 30 years of experience in trusts, qualified retirement plans, and wealth management for high net worth families and their businesses. As a Certified Wealth Strategist, Hank takes a holistic approach to issues that concern a client and develops their wealth management plan designed to create and grow wealth, to protect and preserve wealth, and then develop efficient strategies for wealth distribution during life and at death. Hank also focuses on retirement plan administration and investments, and has assisted hundreds of clients in the design, implementation, administration and investment of qualified plans.
Previously, Hank was Senior Vice President with BBVA Compass and manager of the Tyler area Wealth Management Group delivering trust, investment and private banking services to the bank’s affluent client base in Tyler and surrounding communities. In 1985, Hank co-founded Secured Trust Bank in Tyler, which merged into the predecessors of BBVA Compass in 2003. Secured Trust Bank was an East Texas leader in private banking and wealth management. As Executive Vice President, Hank was responsible for the bank’s wealth management and trust services. He was a key driver of the bank’s strategic growth and services, including its role as a leading provider of retirement plan services. Prior to the financial industry, he was with Deloitte, Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte & Touche) Houston, Texas, a national accounting firm providing auditing, tax, and consulting services.
Hank has a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University and is a Certified Public Accountant, but not practicing. He has served numerous civic and professional organizations as President, including Tyler Jaycees, Smith County American Heart Association, East Texas Chapter of CPAs, East Texas Estate Planning Council and All Saints Episcopal School Board. In addition, Hank has held leadership positions with the Tyler Museum of Art, Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, UT Tyler Patriots, and the Texas Affiliate of the American Heart Association.
Hank is married to Nikki, and they have three sons: William, Ashton, and Blake. Hank enjoys sailing, hunting, camping, and most anything outdoors—especially with family and friends.
